Biography
Youssef Karam casts figures that look caught mid-gesture, as if the bronze had decided to stop rather than the artist. He works from plaster studies made directly in front of the model, then keeps the tool marks in the final cast, so the surface carries the record of every decision.
The journey
Thirty years of foundry work in Beirut, a decade of teaching at the Lebanese University, and a recent turn toward monumental outdoor commissions along the Levantine coast.
Artistic vision
Bronze is patient. It will wait for you to be honest.
