Biography
Nadia Bensalem paints interiors the way others paint weather: shutters half closed, a chair left in the wrong place, the pale rectangle a window leaves on a wall. Trained in Casablanca and Seville, she works in oil and cold wax on linen, building and scraping each surface until the room remembers the hour it was painted.
The journey
She began as a muralist for the Casablanca theatre scene, then withdrew into domestic subjects in 2014 — rooms, thresholds and the objects that outlive their owners.
